Tomb of King Tahir Khan Nahar
The Tomb of King Tahir Khan Nahar is located in Seetpur, Muzaffargarh District, Punjab, Pakistan. It is an important historical site that has been preserved by the Federal Government of Pakistan. Tahir Khan Nahar, also known as ‘Sakhi’ (generous or liberal), was the head of his independent kingdom at Seetpur. He built a tomb and a mosque in Seetpur during his lifetime around the fifteenth century AD.
This tomb is located near the confluence of River Indus and River Chenab. It is very similar to the tomb of Shah Rukn Alam in Multan which was built around 1320. The tomb of Tahar Khan Nahar is three stories and octagonal in plan, each 4 meters in length. The interior of the tomb is decorated with glazed tiles in green, dark blue and white, laid in geometric and floral patterns.
