Blue Area

The Blue Area is a tourist attraction and the central business district located in Islamabad, Pakistan. It is a 2-kilometer (1.2 mi) long corridor alongside Khayaban-e-Quaid-e-Azam (also known as Jinnah Avenue), which is Islamabad’s primary arterial road leading up to the main government buildings. The area is characterized by clean, wide roads and tall buildings among the panoramic greenery of the adjacent areas.

The name “Blue Area” comes from the original design (master plan) of the planned city, where it was represented in blue color. It is served by several metro bus stations on Jinnah Avenue Line 1 of the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metrobus system.
