Miangan Tarakai Game Reserve is located in Nowshera District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is a significant conservation area known for its rich biodiversity and ecological importance.

The reserve supports a diverse array of wildlife, including:

Avian Diversity

A study conducted in December 2017 recorded 8,104 individual birds across 30 species and 23 families within the reserve. Notably, the Phasianidae family was well-represented. The construction of the nearby Jalozai Barani Dam has enhanced the habitat, attracting migratory waterfowl and positioning the reserve as a potential ecotourism destination.

Miangan Tarakai Game Reserve is ecologically linked to neighboring protected areas, including Cherat Wildlife Park, Chapri, Manglot Wildlife Park, and Nizampur Wildlife Park. These connections facilitate wildlife movement and genetic exchange, crucial for species conservation.
