Shaikh Imam Ud Din Tomb

Shaikh Imam Ud Din Tomb is located in the Peshawar District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Among Peshawar’s lesser-known yet evocative heritage sites lies the tomb in the village of Palosai Piran.

Completed in 1658 AD by his devoted disciples, this Mughal-inspired mausoleum features a square base rising to an octagonal drum and crowned by a graceful dome. Built of brick and lime-mortar and once richly decorated with fresco floral motifs, the tomb stands on a raised platform above vaulted chambers and is paired with an adjoining three-arched mosque.

Tucked along the old Michni Road and framed by the settlement that grew around the saint’s legacy, the site offers travellers a contemplative glimpse into the spiritual architecture of the 17th-century frontier region.

Although time and neglect have faded much of its original decoration, the structure’s form, elevation and quiet original setting preserve its historic charm and presence. A visit here complements a broader exploration of Peshawar’s heritage matrix, blending Sufi remembrance, Mughal print and local Pashtun lineage.
