Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourist Authority (KPCTA) and the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIK) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU)
On Saturday, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourist Authority (KPCTA) and the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIK) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to work together on promoting and developing the province’s tourism industry.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Farooq Sultan, Director of the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), and Khursheed Alam Khattak, Director of the KPCTA.
The ceremony attended by Prof Dr. Wasim Ahmad Khan, Pro-Rector of Academics, Sardar Aminullah Khan, Pro-Rector of Admin and Finance, and Prof Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid, Rector of the GIK Institute.
According to the agreement, both parties would collaborate to maximize their efforts and pool resources for developing and promoting KP’s tourism and hospitality industry as a viable source of economic growth through e-tourism, which combines traditional travel with technologically based solutions. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourist Authority will set up stalls at GIK Institute events and share ideas for creating software prototypes aimed at the tourism industry.
The KPCTA will assess tourism-related initiatives, assist students in gaining information about the industry, and aid the GIK Institute in acquiring finance for tourism-related research. The KPCTA would receive assistance from the GIK Institute in software development initiatives about travel and hospitality. The GIK will assist with the distribution of undergraduate project handbooks that detail the projects and provide a list of students who completed tourism-related final-year projects.
