Nanga Parbat

Nanga Parbat is a mountain located in Diamer District, Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. The mountain is also known as Diamer Mountain. It is the world’s ninth peak and the second-highest peak in Pakistan after K-2. Its height is 8126 meters (26,660 feet). And it is also called the ‘Killer Mountain’ of the world because the highest number of climbers have been killed in its ascent. It marks the western anchor of the Himalayan range and is a dream destination for trekkers, climbers, and nature lovers.

It is the highest peak of the Himalaya range in Pakistan. Despite not being the highest peak in the world, it has been the mountain where the most climbers have lost their lives trying to scale it. It was first climbed on 3 July 1953 by Hermann Buhl, a German-Austrian. He also narrowly escaped death while attempting to scale it.

Fairy Meadows is the most beautiful place to see Nanga Parbat. It is said that the sight of this mountain is more awe-inspiring than beautiful.

How to Reach

The most popular access route to Nanga Parbat is via the Raikot Bridge on the Karakoram Highway. From there, a thrilling jeep ride leads you through rugged terrain to the village of Tato. Visitors then embark on a scenic trek toward the breathtaking Fairy Meadows and further to Beyal Camp, with panoramic views of the mighty mountain.
