Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pavilion Wins Best Pavilion Award at Lok Mela 2023
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) secured the Best Pavilion Award for the second time at Islamabad’s Lok Mela 2023. This was a ten-day celebration of Pakistan’s folk culture. The KP Pavilion featured 30 stalls from various regions. It stole the show with its vibrant display of traditional arts and crafts.
The Lok Mela brought artists and artisans together. It succeeded in promoting cultural diversity and preserving centuries-old traditions. The KP Pavilion stood out as a testament to the vibrant cultural identity of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It won hearts and accolades at the festival.
The festival’s chief guests were Caretaker Federal Minister for Culture and National Heritage Syed Jamal Shah and Secretary Culture and Heritage Humaira Ahmad. They praised the pavilion’s setup. It highlighted solidarity with the people of Palestine. They encouraged more provincial-level gatherings. These gatherings unite artists and artisans, fostering national harmony.
KPCTA’s participation aimed to project a positive image of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It showcased the rich cultural and traditional heritage. The pavilion featured a traditional hujra for enjoying music and dance. Visitors indulged in traditional cuisines from various regions.
The KP Pavilion displayed a wide array of traditional items. These included wax paintings, pottery, Mughal art, Charsadda Chappal, and more. Muhammad Kashif, Waseem, Syed Abid Shah, and Nasim Akhtar were recognized as master artisans in various categories.
