Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Enhances Tourist Experience with New Signboards
Peshawar, May 13, 2024 – Tourists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will soon see new signboards on national highways. The Department of Tourism, Culture, Archeology and Museum Khyber Pakhtunkhwa announced this initiative. Barkatullah Marwat, the Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, leads this project.
The initiative, which will be carried out in collaboration with the National Highway Authority, aims to improve the existing condition of the roads for the upcoming Shandur Polo Festival. General Manager Maintenance National Highway Authority, Ashfaq Khan, assured that road maintenance and natural problems like landslides will be addressed promptly.
Tourists will find the new signboards on the M1 Motorway, Swat and Hazara Motorway. They will also be at the tourist facility centers of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Authority. These signboards will guide tourists to attractions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The General Manager Planning and Marketing Tourism Authority, Muhammad Ali Syed, was also present. He expressed his support for the initiative, highlighting its potential to boost tourism in the region.
Marwat revealed plans to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two institutions. This agreement will ensure the initiative’s completion. Stay tuned for more updates on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s tourism sector.
