Dr. Ehsan Bhutta Reviews Major Tourism Projects in Punjab

Lahore: Secretary Tourism, Archaeology & Museums Department, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, chaired a comprehensive review meeting of the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP), where ongoing and upcoming tourism initiatives across the province were thoroughly evaluated.

During the meeting, the total cost of each scheme, along with allocation, release, and utilization status, was closely examined. A number of high-impact projects aimed at boosting tourism and enhancing visitor experiences were brought into discussion.

Key projects under review included:

  • Murree Schemes: Focused on improving facilities and creating eco-friendly resorts and parks to promote sustainable tourism in the hill station.

  • Chairlift Projects: Aimed at providing modern recreational opportunities to visitors.

  • Salt Range Development: Plans to highlight the cultural and natural heritage of the Salt Range through new attractions and infrastructure.

  • Winter Tourism Initiatives: Efforts to attract tourists during the colder months with seasonal packages and activities.

  • Cholistan Desert Safari: Expansion of desert tourism through adventure sports, safaris, and cultural experiences in the Cholistan region.

Dr. Ehsan Bhutta emphasized the importance of timely execution, transparency, and quality in all projects to strengthen Punjab’s position as a leading tourism destination in Pakistan. He noted that the projects will not only provide better facilities for domestic and international travelers but also contribute to the local economy and job creation.
