Rohtas Fort Visit Highlights Heritage Conservation Efforts
A large delegation of 60 officers from the Secretariat Training Institute recently conducted a Rohtas Fort visit in Jhelum. The group included 28 officers from the Office Management Group and 26 from Gilgit-Baltistan. Curator Anjum Dara received them on behalf of the Secretary of Tourism and the Director General of Archaeology. A representative from the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Jhelum also attended the visit.
Officers Appreciated the Fort’s Conservation Work
During the tour, the officers explored the newly relocated museum gallery, Boali, and the Sohail Gate briefing room. They received detailed briefings on the site’s rich heritage and the ongoing preservation efforts led by the Archaeology Directorate.
Promoting Punjab’s Cultural Heritage
Participants expressed their appreciation to the Directorate of Archaeology and the Government of Punjab for their commitment to safeguarding this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The initiative, part of the Magnificent Punjab program, aims to protect and promote historical landmarks that reflect the province’s vibrant cultural identity.
