Nagar
Nagar was once a proud princely state in northern Pakistan, originally known as Broshal with Dongus as its capital. Ruled by local kings called “Thams,” its ancient history stretches back thousands of years.
The region faced major shifts when advancing glaciers disrupted life in Dongus, prompting people to settle in Hopper. Eventually, under Raja Miyor Khan’s sons, Broshal was divided into two states — Nagar and Hunza.
It often sustained itself by intercepting and plundering trade caravans traveling from China. Today, exploring Nagar reveals traces of this storied past, set against a spectacular backdrop of snow-capped peaks, lush valleys, and timeless village life.
