Osho Forest Eco-Tourism Project Announced in Kalam, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Kalam, Swat Valley – The scenic Osho Forest in Kalam is set to become a new symbol of eco-tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A major eco-tourism project has been announced to transform this lush green valley into an attractive tourist destination while creating new avenues of employment for the local community.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Khan, has approved important initiatives to make the province’s tourist destinations more appealing, in line with the tourism vision of Gandapur. With the joint efforts of the Tourism Department and the Forest Department, the “Osho Eco-Tourism Zone” is being established to promote sustainable tourism while preserving the natural environment.

Following the success of the Monroe Track project, this new eco-tourism zone marks another milestone in boosting tourism and strengthening the local economy. A traditional-style rest area will be built in Usho Forest to provide modern facilities for visiting tourists while maintaining the cultural heritage of the region.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary of Tourism Dr. Abdul Samad emphasized that Usho Forest is not just a forest, but a charming destination that will attract both domestic and international tourists. He added that the eco-tourism zone will be designed with special mapping for both summer and winter seasons, ensuring that visitors can experience the beauty of Usho Forest throughout the year.

Importantly, the Forest Department has reassured that strict measures will be taken to protect the natural forests of Usho, and no activity will be allowed that harms the environment.

According to the Tourism Department, more eco-tourism projects are in the pipeline in collaboration with the Forest Department and local communities. These initiatives aim to create sustainable tourism opportunities while safeguarding the natural landscapes of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
