Dr. Ehsan Bhutta Visits Hiran Minar to Review Restoration and Tourism Development Plans
Sheikhupura, Pakistan – Secretary Tourism, Archaeology & Museums Department, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, paid an official visit to the historic Hiran Minar. Along with the Director General of Archaeology, GM Admin TDCP, Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Sheikhupura, and other officials. The delegation was briefed on the Master Plan of Hiran Minar, which aims to enhance its tourism potential while preserving its cultural heritage.
During the tour, Dr. Bhutta inspected various restored sections of Hiran Minar, including the pathway, golf cart service, boating area, and jungle track. And also the popular deer sanctuary, where families were seen enjoying the serene environment. He appreciated the efforts of the teams involved in improving the facilities and stressed the need for sustainable tourism development at this Mughal-era site.
Apart from Dr. Ehsan Bhutta’s visit to the Hiran Minar, he highlighted future initiatives. Dr. Bhutta instructed the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) to launch a weekend sightseeing double-decker bus service from Lahore, particularly to showcase the illuminated monument at night. He also emphasized the importance of guided tours, restored gates, and history boards to enrich the visitor experience.
In addition, plans for the conservation of fragile structures, the establishment of a craft bazaar, and a small restaurant within the premises were discussed to provide more amenities for tourists. At the TDCP information desk, Dr. Bhutta interacted with interns of the CM’s Magnificent Punjab Program, encouraging their contributions to tourism promotion. He also commended the Archaeology Directorate and TDCP for their dedicated efforts, while directing them to further enhance tourist facilities.
