Kallar Kahar Resort Cafeteria-Cum-Auditorium Inaugurated by TDCP

The Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) has added a remarkable new facility to the Kallar Kahar Resort. Secretary Tourism, Archaeology & Museums Department, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, along with Mr. Asim Raza, MD TDCP, inaugurated the newly completed state-of-the-art Kallar Kahar Resort cafeteria-cum-auditorium. This modern addition strengthens the region’s tourism appeal by combining heritage with upgraded amenities.

A Modern Facility for Tourists and Groups

Revamped in just three days under the guidance of MD TDCP, the facility offers:

  • A redesigned back wall with improved aesthetics.

  • Upgraded lighting for a better ambiance.

  • New plantations for greener surroundings.

  • Tuff-tiled pathways and a spacious parking area.

The Kallar Kahar Resort cafeteria-cum-auditorium is the first of its kind in the region. It provides a modern venue equipped for seminars, multimedia events, and dining experiences, catering to tourists, students, history enthusiasts, and corporate groups alike.

Linking Tourism with Nearby Attractions

Located in a scenic setting, the new facility complements six major attractions within a 2.5 km radius:

  1. Kalar Kahar Resort

  2. Kalar Kahar Lake

  3. Kalar Kahar Museum

  4. Tomb of Hu Bahu Sarkar

  5. Bagh-e-Safa

  6. Takht-e-Babri

By connecting these sites, TDCP is enriching the Kalar Kahar tourism landscape with opportunities for cultural, academic, and eco-tourism.

Focus on Preservation and Enhancement

During his visit, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta inspected the Kalar Kahar Museum and directed immediate repair of cracks on both interior and exterior walls. He also ordered its inclusion in TDCP’s visitor itineraries to attract more travelers.

At Bagh-e-Safa, he instructed the Water and Sanitation Company (WMC) to clean the site and remove wild growth. Dr. Bhutta praised the management and curator for their excellent upkeep of Takht-e-Babri and the museum.

He further tasked MD TDCP with devising a plan to highlight the panoramic lake view from Takht-e-Babri, emphasizing that linking historical landmarks with modern facilities is crucial for sustainable tourism.

Kalar Kahar Tourism Trail: A Unique Experience

Dr. Ehsan Bhutta reiterated that the Kalar Kahar Tourism Trail will connect six attractions within walking distance, offering visitors a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. This initiative will not only improve the visitor experience but also create new opportunities for eco-tourism and academic exploration in the region.
