Behram ki Baradari
Behram’s Pavilion or Behram ki Baradari is a tourist attraction in Attock District, Punjab, Pakistan. It is believed to be built by Bahram Khan, the son of the great and well-known Pashto poet Khushal Khan Khattak. Bahram Khan was born in 1643 AD and built this monument probably in the last quarter of the 17th century.
The area of the monument is enclosed by a wall, especially on the western wall with Merlin decoration in small bricks and lime plaster. The pillars are made of blue stone and the door jambs are made of black stone. The structure is carefully positioned in the middle of the long southern courtyard to give it a well-balanced shape.
The 12-door pavilion is designed to allow free flow of air. This structure has three gates on each side of the square-shaped structure. This design was particularly suitable for dances or performances by the high courtiers of India, as well as live performances and private concerts by various musicians and poets before the ruling monarchs of the time.
