Sheosar Lake

Sheosar Lake

Sheosar Lake, also known as Blind Lake, is located in Skardu District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It is situated in Deosai National Park, which is located at an altitude of 4142 meters in the Sarzaz Plain of the Tibetan Plateau.

It has a length of about 2.3 km, a width of 1.8 km and an average depth of 40 m. This lake is one of the highest lakes in the world. With deep blue water, snow-capped hills, lush grass and colorful flowers, this lake is unique in its beauty.

As travelers move beyond Sheosar Lake through the Deosai plateau, they encounter Kala Pani and Bara Pani, streams that snake through the highland meadows. These waterways continue the symphony of Deosai, their flowing currents creating a harmonious background against which every whisper of wind and jingle of passing goat bells becomes part of a seamless natural melody. Even the honks of jeeps echo through the open terrain like discordant notes briefly disturbing the park’s otherwise profound tranquility.
