Dasht River

Dasht River

Dasht River, also known as Dasht Kaur,  is located in Gwadar District, Balochistan, Pakistan. The river is fed by tributaries such as the Nehang and Kech Rivers, making it one of the largest seasonal rivers in the region. It flows through an arid landscape and plays a crucial role in the local ecosystem.

The river eventually drains into Gawater Bay near Jiwani, forming a delta that contributes to the ecological importance of the area. This delta is described as a swampy region and is part of the Jiwani Coastal Wetland, which has been designated as a Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention.

It is an intermittent stream, meaning its flow depends on seasonal rainfall and climatic conditions. Despite its seasonal nature, its tributaries provide a good habitat for various species and support biodiversity in the otherwise arid region.
