Citizens Archive of Pakistan
The Citizen Archive of Pakistan (CAP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to cultural and historical preservation. It operates in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, with a wide reach across Pakistan and internationally.
CAP focuses on the tradition of oral storytelling in Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of such narratives in creating a platform for national memory. Since its inception, CAP has digitized more than 650,000 images from private and public collections and collected more than 5,000 oral histories through its Oral History Project (OHP). Their archive offers one of the most unique selections of photography and is Pakistan’s most diverse oral history collection.
They also have several projects like the National History Museum, Lahore Museum on Wheels, and CAP Outreach Tours.
