Handyside Fort

Handyside Fort

Handyside Fort is located in Kohat District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It stands as a historical sentinel, originally built by the Durrani rulers and later fortified by the British. Named after Major Handyside, who was killed during British campaigns to subdue local tribes, this fort is now under Pakistan Army control.

Though civilians cannot enter, its imposing structure remains visible from the city, offering a striking silhouette against the Kohat skyline and reminding visitors of the region’s storied past.
