Kallar Kahar

Kallar Kahar is a tourist attraction located in Chakwal District, Punjab, Pakistan. It is an ancient region that was named Samarkand by Babur. It is not known how long this name remained, but due to the saltwater lake, the region was named “Kallar Kahar”.

Kalar Kahar is home to historical and religious sites such as the Takht-e-Babri, the shrine of Hazrat Ahu Bahu Sarkar, and a museum.

While on one side of Kalar Kahar, on the Choa Saidan Shah Road, one can see the Swaik Lake, the historic temple of Katas, and the Khewra Salt Mines. On the other side, on the Khushab Road and Nowshera-Jaba Road, there are three natural lakes, the path to which is very challenging and heart-wrenching.
