Kheri Murat National Park

Kheri Murat National Park

Kheri Murat National Park is located in the Kheri Murat region of Tehsil Fateh Jhang, Attock District, Punjab, Pakistan. The park spans over 8,740 acres. Its proximity to Islamabad and its location on both sides of the motorway makes it an ideal destination for recreational activities such as hiking and nature exploration. The boundaries of the park touch the hills near Nine Villages in the north, Eight Villages in the south, Kheri Murat Village and Rawalpindi in the east, and Gali Jagir Village in the west.

The Kheri Murat Reserve Forest was declared as reserve forest under Section 34 of the Indian Forest Act, of 1878. However, recognizing the need for greater conservation and protection, the Governor of Punjab declared the area as Khari Murat National Park in 2020.
