Lahore Fort

Lahore Fort, also known as Shahi Qila (Royal Fort), is located in Lahore District, Punjab, Pakistan. It spans across its 20-hectare complex, reflecting the empire’s artistic and military prowess. It is said that this fort existed even in ancient times. But in the true sense, it was reconstructed during the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar Azam. The fort was extended by several kings after Akbar, making it a masterpiece of Mughal architecture.

Some of the famous places inside the fort include Shesh Mahal, Alamgiri Darwaza, Nolakha Mahal, and Moti Masjid. In 1981, UNESCO declared the fort a World Heritage Site along with Shalamar Bagh.
