Maslakh Wildlife Sanctuary
Maslakh Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Pishin District, Balochistan, Pakistan. The sanctuary has a rich history and is recognized as a National Wildlife Sanctuary since 1968. It is situated near the capital city of Balochistan, Quetta, and is spread over an area of approximately 465 square kilometers. The sanctuary’s terrain is predominantly dry and rugged, with various flora and fauna species native to the area.
However, in September 2006, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) reported a devastating development in the sanctuary. The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) moved into the area, resulting in the elimination of all flagship wildlife species.
