Panjtar Dam
Panjtar Dam is a proposed water reservoir project located in Tehsil Khadu Khel, Buner District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The project forms part of the provincial government’s initiative to develop water reservoirs aimed at improving irrigation facilities and bringing barren land under cultivation.
The dam is designed to provide a live storage capacity of 10,000 acre-feet (AF) and irrigate approximately 1,815 acres of cultivable command area (CCA). The estimated project cost is PKR 487.86 million. The feasibility study had been completed, the detailed design was scheduled to begin shortly, and the project’s PC-I had been prepared, marking an important step toward its planned development.
The dam is expected to contribute to the sustainable management of water resources, support agricultural development, and help increase the productivity of surrounding farmland as part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s broader irrigation and rural development strategy.
