Rafi Cricket Stadium
Rafi Cricket Stadium is located in Bahria Town, Malir District, Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It is the largest cricket stadium in Pakistan, with a capacity of up to 50,000 people. The stadium was designed by Gerkan, Marg and Partners, and has an ICC-certified design. The complex includes a cricket academy of international standard, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and hostels.
The groundbreaking ceremony for Rafi Cricket Stadium was held on 14 April 2017. The stadium is expected to be instrumental in bringing back international cricket to Pakistan. It is designed as per ICC standards and features floodlights, making it ideal for day and night matches. The stadium also has an LED screen and digital scoreboard.
The architectural design of the stadium was done by GMP Germany, who also designed and constructed the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The structure of the stadium has been designed by Boston-based Simpson SGH, while the façade has been created by SBP Consultants Germany and M&B (Mushtaq & Bilal) Pakistan. MEP is designed by SMC (S. Mehboob & Company) Pakistan, and Pre-Cast Support Consultants are JPC, USA.
