Ranigat
Ranigat is an archaeological site located in Buner District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
Rani gat belongs to the period from the first to the sixth century AD and is protected under the Antiquities Act 1975. H.H. Cole was the first excavator who excavate in 1883. Later on, A. Stein and M.A. Foucher visited the site. The Archaeological Survey of India also surveyed the site in 1920. The Japanese archaeological mission of Kyoto University has carried out an extensive excavation on the site from 1959 to 2005 that includes excavation, conservation and construction of the Nogram area roads and 500 steps to the site.
The remains include Stupas, Monasteries, Rooms in stone and living areas. The site is being supervised by the “Directorate of Archaeology and Museums” of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
