Remount Depot Mona

It is located 90 km from Sargodha city and 24 km from Lahore. The Remount Depot was built in 1902. It spans a vast area of over 10,000 acres of land and also encompasses 660 acres of timberland. The depot is today an important place for raising fine quality ponies.

No auto vehicles are allowed inside Mona station from the main entrance. You will have to pass by pony-traveler trucks and carriages, or tanga (horse-drawn carts). These trucks are reminiscent of a glorious past. Surreys used by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Queen Elizabeth II are clearly visible at the historic site, along with other vehicles from the mid-19th century.
