Samana

Samana

Samana is a hill station located in Orakzai District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The landscape is adorned with walnut and wild apple trees, lush meadows, and panoramic views of the surrounding valleys.

Samana Top is a breathtaking hill station near Hangu, approximately 6,000 feet above sea level and blanketed by evergreen chir pine forests. Known locally as Samana village, this spot offers a refreshing escape even during summer, with cool breezes sweeping across the landscape.

Historically, the British established an outpost here to monitor the surrounding valleys of Kurram and Orakzai, given its strategic elevation. Today, Samana Top is a beloved picnic and barbecue destination for local families, offering sweeping views of expansive valleys and a nostalgic glimpse of old military posts reclaimed by peaceful times.

Access to Samana is primarily via a steep, narrow, and winding road from Hangu, approximately a three-hour drive from Kohat. While the journey offers scenic views, it requires skilled driving due to challenging terrain.
