Shandur National Park

Shandur National Park also known as Shandur-Hundrup National Park is located in Gupis Yasin District, Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. The park was declared a national park in 1993. It is on the border of Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Spread over 3,132 hectares. The highest point in the park is Shandur Pass, which stands at an altitude of 3,700 meters.

Shandur Polo Ground is also located here at an altitude of about 3,700 meters above sea level. It is the highest polo field in the world and hosts the annual ”Shandur Polo Festival”. The Shandur Polo Festival is a popular event that attracts visitors from all over the world. In this festival, polo matches are held between teams representing the Chitral district and Gilgit-Baltistan province.
