Shandur Pass

Shandur Pass

Shandur Pass is located in Upper Chitral District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is one of the four major mountain passes providing access to Chitral. The other three are: Dorah Pass, Lowari Pass, and Broghil Pass.

Connecting Gilgit and Chitral, it sits at an elevation of 12,000 feet and is known for its annual polo festival. The road from Gilgit to Shandur travels through the Ghizer Valley, making it one of the most scenic drives in northern Pakistan. The Gilgit River also originates near Shandur Lake and flows through this valley.
