Silk Road
The ancient Silk Road is a historical trade route that once connected China with Europe and the Middle East. Spanning nearly 8,000 kilometers, it passed through several prominent cities including Taxila (Pakistan), Samarkand and Bukhara (Uzbekistan), and Alexandria (Egypt).
This route enabled the exchange of silk, spices, ceramics, and other valuable goods. In Pakistan, Taxila served as a major stop on this network. The legacy of the Silk Road is still evident along the modern Karakoram Highway, which follows parts of the ancient route and continues its spirit of intercontinental connection.
