Simly Dam

Simly Dam is located in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Pakistan. The dam is built on the Soan River in Rawalpindi, part of whose lake is also located within the limits of Islamabad. It is the largest reservoir for supplying water to Islamabad. Although the inflow of water is dependent on rainfall, water from several small and large ponds in nearby areas also falls into Simly Dam Lake.

The Simly Lake is 265 feet deep. It has a capacity to store 2.58 million cubic yards of water. A spillway has also been built to discharge excess water in the lake. This lake is a great tourist destination because it has beautiful waterfalls (Bissa and Simly) located near it.
