Skardu Road

Skardu Road

Skardu Road is considered one of the most dangerous roads in the world. It begins at a sharp bend off the Karakoram Highway and winds precariously alongside the Indus River, sandwiched between towering rocky cliffs. The path is narrow, and vehicles move cautiously to avoid the furious, roaring river below.

The route, nearly 200 kilometers long, once took 7 to 8 hours to traverse between Gilgit and Skardu. The road offers a dramatic and thrilling experience for adventure seekers traveling through the stunning but treacherous terrain of Gilgit-Baltistan.
