Sutlej River

Sutlej River

The Sutlej River is located in the Kasur, Pakpattan, Bahawalnagar and Bahawalpur Districts of Punjab, Pakistan. It is also known as “Satluj” in Urdu, is the longest of the five rivers of Punjab and a vital tributary of the Indus River.

Originating from Lake Rakshastal in Tibet, it traverses through India before entering Pakistan near Bhedian Kalan in Kasur District, Punjab. Within Pakistan, it meanders southwest, nourishing the fertile plains and eventually merging with the Chenab River near Uch Sharif to form the Panjnad River, which then flows into the Indus River.
