Upper Jhelum Canal
Upper Jhelum Canal is located in Gujrat District, Punjab, Pakistan. It originates from the river Jhelum near Mangala and joins the waters of the river Jhelum to the river Chenab. This canal was built under the Three Canal System during British rule. Work on the canal began in 1915 and was completed in 1917. It irrigates 3,44,000 acres of land in its downstream area of Gujarat district and joins the Chenab River upstream of the Khanki Barrage.
