Shangla Top Camping Pods Site Visit by KP Culture & Tourism Authority

The Shangla Top camping pods site visit was held to identify suitable locations for new campground pods under the initiative of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture & Tourism Authority. The site visit brought together local officials and partners to plan expanded eco-tourism infrastructure that will attract visitors and enhance outdoor tourism experiences. Camping pods have already been developed at many scenic sites in the province, offering affordable and comfortable stays for travelers exploring nature.

Joint Visit and Key Route Focus

The visit was led by Deputy Commissioner Shangla, Pir Abdullah Shah, alongside Director Tourism Authority Muhammad Ali Syed, Additional Deputy Commissioner Syed Hamad, and a team from the UNDP. During the assessment, special attention was given to the Achai Sar route, which connects Shangla Top to the popular Malam Jabba area. Officials evaluated terrain and accessibility to ensure the new camping pods will be well-placed for scenic views and tourism traffic.

Support for Tourism Development Projects

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner assured full cooperation to the KP Culture & Tourism Authority. He said the district administration will support all proposed development initiatives, including the establishment of camping pods for tourists, waterfall improvement projects, and the construction of rest areas. This support will facilitate smoother project implementation and encourage sustainable tourism growth.

Adventure Tourism and Youth Training

While discussing broader tourism plans, officials also proposed adventure tourism training courses for the youth of Shangla, similar to programs offered to young people in Kalam and Chitral. These courses are expected to equip local youth with professional skills, enabling them to benefit from tourism-related employment opportunities. Training initiatives like these are aligned with broader efforts across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to involve communities in tourism projects and enhance local livelihoods.
