Trango Glacier
Trango Glacier is located in the Shigar District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. The glacier is in the Karakoram mountain range. It is named after Trango Towers, a group of granite spires that rise above the glacier and are a popular destination for rock climbers. Trango Glacier is approximately 20 kilometers long and is fed by several smaller glaciers.
The Trango Towers are some of the highest vertical cliffs in the world, with the tallest tower standing at 6,239 meters (20,469 feet) above sea level. The towers have attracted many world-class rock climbers since they were first climbed in the 1970s. The area is known for its difficult climbing routes, and the towers have been the site of many notable ascents.
Trango Glacier is also a popular destination for trekking and mountaineering, with several peaks in the area reaching heights of over 7,000 meters (23,000 feet). The region is known for its dramatic scenery, including glaciers, rivers, and towering peaks.
