British Delegation Visits PITHM in Karachi: A Step Towards Encouraging Young Talent
Karachi – A high-profile British delegation recently visited the Pakistan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (PITHM), marking a significant event in the cultural and tourism exchange between the two nations. The delegation was led by Deputy High Commissioner Sarah Mooney and Deputy Head of Mission Martin Dawson.
The visit, hosted by the Provincial Minister of Culture and Tourism Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, included a comprehensive tour of PITHM’s facilities, including the kitchen, library, and other departments. The British guests were given an opportunity to interact with the budding talent at the institute, even participating in a cooking session with the young chefs.
The highlight of the visit was the Junior Chefs Cooking Competition, where the British delegation served as the Chief Guests. The competition was a vibrant display of the culinary skills of the young chefs, aptly named ‘Junior Shafers’. The British delegation appreciated the competitive spirit and the culinary skills displayed by the young chefs.
In a gesture of encouragement and recognition, the British guests distributed certificates and prizes to the successful children. The delegation lauded PITHM’s role in encouraging children and providing them with healthy activities and opportunities. They emphasized that it is the responsibility of all of us to provide children with such opportunities.
Provincial Minister Syed Zulfikar Ali Shah echoed these sentiments, stating, “The purpose of teaching skills to children is to make them capable and strong.” This visit underscores the shared commitment of both nations to foster talent and promote cultural exchange.
