Broad Peak mountain is located in Shigar District, Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. It is the 12th-highest peak in the world and the fourth-highest peak in Pakistan. It is located on the border of Pakistan and China in the Karakoram range. And its height is 8047 meters, it was first climbed on 9 June 1957 by an Austrian team.
It is at a distance of 8 km from K2, its peak is about 1.5 km long. Hence its name ‘Broad Peak’. The local name is Fai Chan Kangri or Falchan Kangri. Interestingly, it has not one but two summits and many climbers mistakenly stop at the 8015m peak and go back without reaching the 8047m height.
