The lake is located in the Soon Valley near Anga and Nowshera, named after the town of Ochhali on its banks. It is the biggest of the three lakes, alongside Jahlar and Khabikki Lakes, that form the Uchhali Wetlands Complex. The condition of the lake is poor due to neglect; however, boating facilities are available locally.
